Tick those that apply:
*You take lots of photos on your smartphone.
*You look at them at the end of the day, exhausted and then… do nothing with them.
*You have the best of intentions to print them off, but sadly that never happens.
*Every now and then you think about backing them up in case you misplace your phone (or a toddler spills a drink over your phone), but again, that never happens.
Yes, me too.
The birth of my freshest baby has prompted me to look at the latest photography-app tools. I want to capture those precious moments on my phone, because hey it is quicker and easier than grabbing my fancy-smancy SLR camera (that I really don’t know how to use).
So this got me thinking. What else can you do with your photos that live on your phone? How can you preserve them or archive them? What else can you do besides keeping them on your camera roll (and lamenting the fact that you never have the time to print them out)?
Here are four fast and easy ideas:
Create a calendar collage–
There are plenty of calendar collage apps that easily let you assign a photo to each calendar day to track your child’s growth over time. (I have been doing this with Billy and even after three weeks we can see how his little face has already changed. I would NEVER have the time to stop and line up printed photos in sequential order!!). I particularly like Tinybeans (also great if you are expecting and want to document your growing tummy), Photo365 (calendar app where you upload photos for each day) and Collect Photo app (this app allows you to create multiple calendars- for example one calendar which documents each of your children).
Print them out (without needing to go to a shop)-
There are increasing numbers of sites that let you (easily) create physical products with your photos. For example, you can turn your Instagram or camera roll photos into posters, mini-books, gift cards, mini-prints, calendars, or even postcards by simply uploading your photos to a site/app and paying for your finished product to be magically printed and shipped to you. Fast. Easy. Love it! Check out Printsagr.am and Origrami and Postagramapp

Turn them into a work of art-
This one you have to see to believe. Postrgram magically compiles your favourite Instagram and/or digital photos into one giant poster (made up of hundreds or thousands of images). It is AMAZING!
Create videos with them–
I have recently stumbled onto Flipagr.am that allows you to create short video stories with your photos, with music. I love it! 1 Second Everyday lets you easily turn your one-second video snippets into a year-long video. Another idea is to create a video and photo collage with the PicPlayPost app.
As you can see there are so many apps to pick from. My suggestion- pick one that appeals to you and play around with it.
Tell me, what is your favourite way to use your digital photos? What apps do you like to use?
